Waymo is expanding its commercial L4 robotaxi service across 18 California counties, including freeways and night driving, with gradual rollout guided by its safety framework. It also launched in Houston after a 100,000+ rider waitlist, published its onboard compute stack featuring a purpose-built 5nm ASIC (>1,000 TOPS), and is targeting commercial service in Munich, Germany by end of 2027.
