Manus (Meta)
Manus is a general-purpose autonomous agent originally built by Butterfly Effect, a Chinese-founded company now based in Singapore. After Meta’s ~$2B acquisition was blocked by China’s NDRC, the deal was unwound, and Manus resumed independent operations on August 11, 2026, with a user data-deletion process underway.
