Cognition rebranded Windsurf IDE to Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026, with windsurf.com redirecting to devin.ai. It introduces Devin Local (a Rust rewrite, ~30% more token-efficient, with subagent support) replacing Cascade, an Agent Command Center Kanban as the default surface, and open Agent Client Protocol (ACP) support; Cascade reaches end-of-life on July 1, 2026.
