o3 and o4-mini are reasoning models that use chain-of-thought for complex problem solving, released in April 2025. o3 leaves ChatGPT on August 26, 2026, and the o3-2025-04-16 and o3-pro-2025-06-10 API snapshots are removed on December 11, 2026, with gpt-5.6-sol as the replacement.
