Agent Name Service (ANS) is a Linux Foundation initiative from June 2026 that establishes an open standard for AI agent verification and trusted identity. It provides a decentralized agent name registry that enables agents to verify legitimate counterparts, mitigating impersonation and man-in-the-middle attacks.
